Buzzcocks is a well-known musical group from Manchester, England. The band's musical style can be described as a combination of punk rock, power pop and new wave. Buzzcocks were originally founded in 1975 by guitarist/singer Pete Shelley (real name Peter McNeish) and singer Howard Devoto (real name Howard Trafford), both students at Bolton Institute of Technology.
